FUNDRAISING - help from businesses

One of our cheerleader's family sells fireworks, so we split costs with them and we sell fireworks to raise money for 5 or 6 days before Independence Day. It works great for us, because there is only 1 competitor since we live in a rural area.

Our local Wal-Mart sponsored a fashion show in the fall and our squad got to wear the clothes. We earned money for wearing the clothes and helping them put up the stage. They also sponsered a car wash we had there in the summer.

My team and I do this every year. We ask stores to donate outfits for a fashion show! It's really fun and we get around 15% of any sales from the stores! It works every time. We also charge about a dollar a ticket, which gives about 100 to 200 more dollars on top of the sales!

We sell advertising spots in our game programs to local businesses. The programs are sold at home games for $1.00. The programs have a list of the football players and their number. There is also a page for the cheerleaders. Our drill team members sell them along with tattoos, bells, and raffle tickets.

Just last Sat. we went to a race track gas station and pumped people gas for a donation. In 6 hours we made $580. Good Luck

Back in November my mom signed up for one of those web sites that pays you just to surf the net. We decided to use it as a fund raiser for the cheer team. WE call it the "Help 5 to help 5" fund raiser. Each cheerleader gets 5 people to sign up on the site that pays you to surf the net. Then, we get each of those people to get 5 people to sign up. The people are very eagar to help us because it doesn't cost them anything at all to sign up and they get a check in the mail every month from the web site. We get paid for the time we spend on the Internet surfing and for the time that everyone we sign up and everyone they sign up to 4 levels. We expect to raise well over $1000 this month. We are basically helping people to get paid to do something they are going to do everyday. We have even gotten other cheer teams involved by helping them to start the "Help 5 to Help 5" fund raiser. Every time someone signs up for the site we make more money for camp, uniforms and other stuff we want to do. If you would like to get a copy of the flyer and forms we use I would be happy to send them to you. You can e-mail me at beauty9@bellsouth.net

One fund raising idea we had was to go to the local Sonic, Pizza Parlor, etc. and waitress and carhop for a night! It was not only a great experience but fun also! Another fund raiser we do is have a 3-2 coed softball tournament. We raised $500 this year!

My cheerleading squad made an arrangement with the Sonic owner in our town. We work at least once a year there. We earn tips and 10% of what we sell. We pull in about $1,500 each time!

Get together with a couple of the other cheerleaders that live around you and then send out fliers for a pop bottle drive. Its a really good idea. I made over $100.00 in 2 hours and not all the houses gave us pop bottles, some gave money donations. Another idea is to go to a local fast food restaurant (such as McDonald's, taco bell or burger king) and ask if for one night, from a certain time, you can stand out side and get people to go into the restaurant. Ask if you can get a certain amount of money for every costumer that goes into the place but not the drive through. My team made $500 just for working from 7:00 till 10:00

My squad that I am on got together with some company and sold pizza cards...and they were $10 ...$4 for each card sold. The money went to warm ups..and the rest for other stuff such as competition mats like the ones used at national competition. It was a real simple and easy way to raise money! And it only took a week!!

Well, I go to an organization called Cheer Elite. For fund raising, we sell wreathes. Also, we got in touch with Daytons, and our mom's work there. They usually get minimum wage, but all the money they make goes into our accounts( Each cheerleader has her own account to keep money in incase she can't make her monthly payment) It's only a part time job, so before or after work they can do a quick 2 hr. shift. It works great for us.
