The National Council for Spirit Safety and Education is an association of companies serving the international cheerleading community who share a primary mission: to provide comprehensive safety training and certification programs for the educational development of spirit coaches and advisors through a national council of unified industry leaders.
Dance Safety Certification is given upon completion of the two core classes:
Program Management and Dance Fundamentals This "how to" manual includes instruction on basic counting of music, terminology, foot, hand and arm placements, step by step guides to correct spotting and balance drills for turns, and drills for better pirouette turns. Included is an in-depth dance glossary packed with terminology related to basic, intermediate and advanced dance steps, positions, leaps, turns, jumps, walks and variations. This course contains program management sections covering methods and practices that can lead to a successful dance program.
Dance Coaching Principles & Ethics This fundamental course has been designed specifically for dance coaches/advisors desiring to build a foundation necessary for a successful dance program. The course manual includes a variety of forms and a comprehensive glossary of dance terminology. This course covers the following key elements: * Roles and Responsibilities of a Dance Instructor * Safety Management * Sportsmanship Ethics * Relationship Building * Program Development
Dance coaches/advisors of all levels and abilities will benefit from this course. Booster club and parent group officers are also encouraged to attend.
