Having a  team contract or constitution is an important factor in informing your squad of the coach's and school's or gym's expectations. It should clearly cover all rules and regulations of the team and also the potential consequences for infractions of these rules. The more specific your contract is the less problems you may encounter later on. It is important that not only your student athletes but their parents read, understand and sign your contract before the start of your season. You may want to make your first practice include a read-through of the contract so that any questions or potential issues can be addressed before any problems occur.
