PEP RALLIES - involve other teams
Each cheerleader picks one football player to be her partner. All of the cheerleaders line up in a vertical line on one side of the court and the football guys do the same. The first guy/girl partner goes in the middle of the court and the cheereleader does a "cheerleading move" like a jump, flip flop, the spilts etc. and the football guy has to do the same. Go through the line until each cheerleader has done something. Then it's the guys turn to embarrass the cheerleaders. Go through the line again, but this time the cheerleaders have to do a football move like pushups, up-downs etc.

The Frozen T-shirt Contest: The night before the rally take four t-shirts and soak them in water. Freeze them and make sure they are HARD! Get the varsity basketball team, junior varsity, varsity girls, and junior varsity girls basketball teams on the court. Each team has to work together to find a way to defrost the shirt. To win the game the team that defrosts the shirt first has to get a teammate to put it on. That team wins.
(That person also gets to keep the shirt).

This year at our homecoming pep rally, we had all the guys on the varsity team dress up as our rival team, and they came out in their little skirts doing the cheer in the beginning of BRING IT ON. Everyone got a laugh.
-Rachel
We got 4 football players to put the end of a ballon in their mouth and the cheerleaders put whip cream all over the ballons. The cheerleaders shaved them with a raser and the last one to pop wins.
-Casse
One year we had all of the senior football players put panty hoes over their faces and their moms fed them chocolate pudding!!
-Amanda
Our basketball team was one game away from getting the gold ball. That's a perfect record. It's a huge deal in our town because it hasn't been done since '74. Anyway, we brought in the 5 starters' moms to play them as the other team. The 2 cheerleaders were the referrees. It was hilarious. The cheerleaders wouldn't call anything at all for the guys, but if the guys even got close to the moms they would call charging and other calls.
-Kortnie
One time our cheerleaders made up funny poems about each senior football player (without saying their names)and read them out loud and the crowd had to guess which player the poem was describing.

"We're Gonna Cream The Other Team"...Cheerleaders challenge the basketball team to a free throw contest. If all the cheerleaders make the basket, they win. If all the guys make them, they win. The catch is that they have to make the baskets blind folded. The cheerleaders go first, blind folded. Of coures they don't make any. But now it is the players turn to try. The cheerleaders blind fold them and count to three-- 1,2...and the cheerleaders cream them with a whip cream pie! This is a blast, everyone goes wild.

Have the lights all turned off and have the color of your school lights shining on the team as they run out onto the floor as you introduce their names. Then play music and throw candy to the crowd and to get everyone livend up!!!
-Monica
Each year, at the beginning of the season, we introduce the football team and girls volleyball team. We got a digital camera and took head shots of each team member and printed them out on card stock. We used spray adhesive to mount them on Wheatie boxes. When we introduced the players, they each received a box with their picture on it. On the back of the box was a "fire-up" poem from the cheerleaders. It was a big hit!
-Annie
At our last pep rally, we got all the seniors who played a fall sport to come in front of the student body. Then we blind-folded them and they played the animal game. The animal game is when two people are given an animal, and they have to find each other by making that animal noise! It was really funny!
-Tracie
At our school, we have a relay race-- the girls vollyball team vs. the boys football team. They did crab walks, roll across the gym, go across on scoters, turn cartwheel or just plain run. The funniest part was when the vice principal was watching. The girls were losing so as the boys would reach 1 side of the gym , the principal and vice principal picked a football player for a dress code check, allowing the girls to get ahead.
-Emily Chambers
We told the b-ball coach that for the pep rally we needed him so the senior players could play pin the tail on the donkey. We blind folded the coach and really had the senior players throw pies at him!!! For the senior players it was fun and it got a laughing response from the audience!!!
-Tara
For one of our pep rallies we had the football players and the cheerleaders do a country/western dance together with some swing dance in it. Then we had some of the football players throw our flyers up in a stunt. The others held us while we did toe touches. Everyone loved it.
-Susie
This year for the spring sports pep- rally we had all the varsity softball players line up facing the crowd. Then the cheerleaders put a card on each softball players forehead saying something they had to do. They could pick to do what was on the card or the other option would be to eat chocolate covered sardines. It was a blast!
-Roxanne
We chose 3 boy and 3 girl basketball players for a "shooting contest" before a big basketball game. We had decorated 2 boxes and used 2 little basketballs. Only, we covered the boys' box with plastic wrap!! (We told the student body what we were doing) We called 1 boy and 1 girl out at a time and they shot. It was very easy for the girls to make the shot, but the boys missed each time. We saved the best boy for last. The coach said the score was 4 - 0 -- but if he made the shot he would get 10 points and the boys would win. He was the funniest, so serious about making the shot!! After he missed we showed all the boys the tops of the boxes -- and they laughed so hard!! The whole school loved it.
-Ducky
At my school we have the captains from the different sport teams come in the middle of the gym and have a dance off. It's crazy to watch the football players do their obscene dancing! The crowd loves it and whoever gets the most applause wins!
-Jamie
Well, for every first pep rally of the year we get the Varsity football players to come to one our of practices and we teach them a dance. It is so funny just to see them try! Usually the pep rally is the next day and we all make them go out with us and do the dance! It is so much fun especially when we do dances were we have to pair up with one of the football players! The entire school loves to watch this! You all should try it!
-Lauren
Last year, for the very first football game, we had a theme of "Birth of a New Season." We got the baby pictures of all the athletes in the school (that play fall sports) and had a cutest baby contest. Our whole pep rally was based around baby things. The entire school loved it.
-Erin
For senior night we had a big pep rally. We got all of the senior football players and all of the senior cheerleaders and lined them up at one end of the basketball court. We blind folded one guy and one girl and made them put their head on the end of a bat and spin around 15 times. Still blind folded they were given a balloon and guided by yelling and screaming had to run to the other end of the basketball court. There they sat on the balloon and ran back and blind folded the next person. Its the best because everyone is falling over everyone and it really gives the students something to laugh about.
-Jessica
We felt like all the football players had been getting all the attention at the pep rallies, so while the classes were coming into the gym, we selected about 5 or 6 football players and 5 or 6 other people. The guys had to dress up, and the football players had to dance to Britney Spears (and sing along... of course) and the other guys had to sing to Christina Agulers (and dance!) We had a judge panel made of non-cheerleaders who picked the best Britney and the best Christina, and then those two had to battle it off with "The Boy is Mine" by Brandy and Monica!
-Sarah
We put all the team captains' names on cups in the cafeteria. Everyday at lunch students would put money in the cups of the captains they wanted to see hit in the face with a pie. At the end of the week the one with the most money got a pie in his face at the pep rally. We let the guy's girlfriend pie him but then to her surprise we gave him a pie and he got her back! We made lots of money at it was really funny.
-Cami
We all come together JV & Varsity and make a dance routine. We build stunts together and then we do our own seperate thing. Then the football player help us in our routine
-Miss Thang252
We have the JV and Varsity cheerleader get together and make up a routine together and the we have varstiy football players to join in a put the varsity cheerleaders up in stunts. It's really funny watching them do jumps and
do cheers and stunts.
-Pam Swindell
We did one when all the teams in that season out on a skit to show some of the good things of the season and how it has changed over the years. It was fun to do and the school liked it cause the skits were meant to be funny.
-Sara
We blind folded 6 football players and 6 cheerleaders and led them to the center of the court. We had 2 rows of 3 cheerleaders lined up back to back with a football player facing each one. We told them that they would have one end of a fruit roll up in their mouth and the cheerleader in front of them would have the other end. We took the cheerleaders out and actually gave the other end to the football player that was now across from them. When we said go, they had to eat the fruit roll up as fast as they could and whoever ate it the fastest won, the guys all thought they were going to kiss a cheerleader so they ate as fast as they could. The guys all ended up kissing. The student body loved it, but the guys weren't too happy about it. The best part is that we got it on tape!
